Independent Midwifery Practice

My name is Dot Parry and I'm a fully qualified, registered and carefully regulated midwife working independently of the NHS.

I could provide your antenatal care in your home at a mutually convenient time. I would offer all the usual checks and examinations, but we would have the luxury of time to talk, to explore issues and to prepare for the birth and beyond. Ultrasound scans would be available through an NHS hospital as normal and I would be able to refer you to an NHS obstetrician should you wish to have a consultation with one.

Because of my teaching commitments I don't currently offer midwifery support during birth.

I have the time and flexibility to offer post natal visits for up to six weeks, providing a gold standard support service for those early weeks with a new baby.

I work within 30 minutes' travel of North Manchester.

What does it cost?

• My ante and postnatal only package costs £1200
• Just antenatal care costs £750.
• Just postnatal care costs £650
  
  The initial consultation is a free 1 hour home visit where you can ask questions and we can decide if we are compatible.
  
  A £250 deposit is payable at the next visit or you can pay in full.
  
  Subsequent antenatal payments can be made monthly.
  Postnatal visits can be paid for as we go through those six weeks.

  What does the antenatal and postnatal care include?

• Initial consultation -a chance for us to discuss the care you want, to talk about previous birth experiences, to really get to know one another and decide if we want to go ahead with a care package.
  
• Booking visit where we talk about your past medical history, your pregnancy so far, your wishes for this pregnancy and this birth. I'd need you to pay your deposit at this visit, and we would formalise your payment plan.
  
• I provide your routine antenatal care in your own home. We can take our time over these antenatal consultations and I can do some of them in the evening or at the weekend if that's useful to you.
  
• You could call me for advice during your pregnancy at any time and I will answer your query as soon as I can.
  
• 50% discount on Natal Hypnotherapy preparation if you choose to use it.
  
• I would offer 12 home visits to care for you and your baby. You might wish to have daily visits at first then space them out as feels appropriate. I usually say goodbye to my clients at 4 - 6 weeks after the birth.
